A week after placing 3rd in the European Judo Cup, in Portimao (Portugal), Mariano Coto (-90 kilos) finished 9th the day before yesterday in the European Cup in Malaga (Spain), in a discreet performance by the Argentine athletes ( 4 of the 6 were pre-classified in the top ten).
RIO GRANDE.- The Fuegian, 50th in the world ranking and top favorite in the Iberian south, debuted in the round of 16, beating Finnish Teo Yliruusi (21 years old, without points in the world ranking) by wazari (in extra time).
In the definition of Zone A, the Dutch youth Dylan Jansen (19 years old) hit him with an ippon 40” from the end of the fight, sending him to the repechage (extended in relation to previous competitions). In the second round of the same, the Rio Grande native fell by ippon (1:24) against the Norwegian Kornelius Eilersten (24 years old and 244th in the world), who had already achieved a wazari.
