THE NEW DIARY, YAMASA. – In an event that promotes sports and community integration, the mayor of Don Juan, Lioncito José (Tito), was present at the inauguration of the XXII Yamasá Superior Basketball Tournament 2024, an event expected annually that unites youth and adults from the region in a high-level sports competition.

The mayor highlighted the importance of the tournament as a platform for Yamasá’s young sporting talents to show their skills, while promoting discipline, teamwork and a healthy competitive spirit.

“The boys from Don Juan come to demonstrate their ability, dexterity, and the capacity they have. “Sport is one of the parts of the development of our province,” said Lioncito José, ensuring that Don Juan will be the winner of this tournament.

The opening ceremony was headed by Víctor Pichardo, who highlighted that this event is of utmost importance for Yamasá, Peralvillo and Don Juan.

The twenty-second edition of the Yamasá Superior Basketball Tournament promises to offer attendees exciting matches, as it will feature the participation of the best local teams. In addition to the competition, the tournament is a space that promotes the social and economic development of Yamasá, attracting visitors and generating an atmosphere of camaraderie between residents and attendees.

The tournament, which will take place at the Yamasá sports facilities, will be ongoing over the coming weeks, offering a schedule of matches in which teams will compete for the prestigious trophy.
