Kylian Mbappé’s lawyer spoke this Tuesday about the fact that the French international is the target of an investigation for alleged rape and sexual assault in Sweden.
Speaking to TF1, Marie-Alix Canu-Bernard denied the veracity of the accusations made against the Real Madrid striker.
“They tell us that a complaint has been filed, but we don’t even know against whom. A complaint does not prove the truth, it does not prove anything. I don’t even know if the complaint is against him. At no point was he alone at night in Stockholm. At no time was he in a situation where he could be exposed. This completely rules out the possibility of him having committed something», he began by saying.
Afterwards, the lawyer revealed that she spoke with Mbappé: «He is particularly calm, but is completely surprised to see this type of media hype. He doesn’t understand what he can be accused of, directly or indirectly,” he added.
“If there was an investigation, would he submit to Swedish justice? If that were the case, obviously. But, once again, he was absolutely serene today. He also went out to train, because he has absolutely nothing to blame himself for,” he concluded.
In the end, Marie assured that she would press charges for slanderous reporting.
