Michoacán Will Host the Fourth Edition of the Judo Rookie Cup 2024 | mizitacuaro.com

Morelia, Michoacán, October 20, 2024 – Michoacán is preparing to receive judokas from all over the country in the fourth edition of the Judo Rookie Cup 2024, which will take place in Morelia on November 23 and 24. This event is part of the prestigious national Judo tournament, Professor Daniel F. Hernández 2024.

The DIF Michoacán System, under the direction of Grisel Tello Pimentel, honorary president of the Board of Trustees, has confirmed the holding of this tournament, which will have the prominent presence of the Paralympic multi-medallist judoka, Lenia Rubalcava. According to Óscar Celis Silva, general director of the DIF Michoacán System, the inclusion of Rubalcava in the event highlights the high competitive level of Michoacan judokas and the quality of the state’s sports facilities.

Lenia Rubalcava expressed her enthusiasm for the support that the State Government provides to judo, especially in promoting this sport among girls, boys and adolescents in residential care. “It is an honor to be in Michoacán and see how judo has institutional support, which is reflected in the organization of this national tournament,” commented Rubalcava.

In addition, he thanked the Mexican Judo Federation and the judo associations of Mexico for their participation, highlighting the quality of the facilities and services available to athletes, ensuring that they will experience an authentic sports festival.

The DIF Michoacán System, together with the State Commission of Physical Culture and Sports (Cecufid), the Executive Secretariat and the Michoacán Association of Judo AC, will soon announce the specific place where the competition will take place.
