Mikal Bridges’ disastrous debut

Mikal Bridges’ disastrous debut

We could generalize with all the Knicks in their debut against the Boston Celtics, where they fell by a resounding 109-132 against the current NBA champions.

However, we have to focus on the signing Mikal Bridges, who left the first half without scoring a basket, and who suffered a lot to defend Jayson Tatum.

The Boston star did as much as he wanted and whatever he wanted with Bridges with 37 points, 4 rebounds and 10 assists with an outstanding 14/18 shooting.

«I definitely think I could have done a better job. I think my performance on defense was not good at all. Not for me, not for the team in general,” Mikal Bridges admitted to the NY Post.

«I could have done much better. Especially against a guy who is making threes… He also did very well in the paint. But I just have to improve. This is just the first match. “I have to learn from all this and do better,” he added.

Bridges, traded from Brooklyn in exchange for five future first-round picks in the Draft, missed his first five shots at the basket, including four triples with visible problems in his shooting mechanics.

«Mikal doesn’t care about any of that. And we’re not affected by all these comments about Mikal, his shooting and all that kind of stuff. We don’t care about that shit. He works hard every day. “It will be very good for us,” said Josh Hart.

Despite his negative first half, Bridges took a step forward after passing through the locker room, demonstrating the reason for his arrival. He ended up shooting 7/8 from the field to finish with 16 points to his name.

«What is said about him is very stupid because at the end of the day he is a 40% player in triples. “What’s being said about it is really stupid and we’re not really going to get it,” Hart concluded.
