Mister Judo. Positive balance for the 2024 edition

20 Italian Regions, 53 Sports Clubs, 549 participants for the B Beginners, 226 for the A Beginners. And again, staff, technicians, companions, public.
Mind-boggling numbers for the “Trofeo Italia Esordienti B e A – Mister Judo XXX” which took place at the PalaMazzola in Taranto last weekend (18-19-20 October), “event included in the national circuit for debutants in the Puglia Region, valid competition for the acquisition of scores in the national ranking list”, as explained by Colonel Giuseppe Matera, National Federal President of the Judo sector, who spoke at the athletes’ awards ceremony.

Also present were the Apulians Roberta Chyurlia, Olympic referee in the Tokyo and Paris Olympics and Antonio Ernesto of the IJF (Protocol of the International Judo Federation – Rio, Tokyo and Paris Olympics) who said they were very “happy to return home for the event after having performed on international stages”. A look to the future was the speech by Giovanni Morziani, President of the Fighting Sector of Fijlkam and Deputy President of the Federation who underlined that “the Italian kids give us hope for numbers and quality therefore it is essential that the Federation invests more in the youth sector ”.

“Four of our athletes participated in the competitions – declared Lorenzo Micoli, President of la Palestra asd – with a bronze medal for Samuela Monopoli. I want to thank the Judo master, Nicola Rinaldi, who in this four-year Olympic period has supported the Puglia Federation, leading the regional Judo with great merit, and all our staff for their important organizational commitment. We believe a lot in judo and sport in general, in fact, every year, we encourage sports practice in the Polisportiva Arci Martina and Palestra asd structures with ‘Try sport’ which will continue until 31 October 2024.

Within the Sports Hall, for the three days, the Earth Markets were set up by Slow Food – Martina Franca – Crispiano to promote the local food and wine excellences and KM 0 products. This year’s event coincided with Word Judo Day and joined the communication campaign promoted by the Puglia Region against violence against women “Train against violence”. The 2024 Great Sports Event financed by the Puglia Region – Department of Sport was organized by Fijlkam – Italian Judo Wrestling Karate Martial Arts Federation, the ASD Gym and Uisp Sport for all with the patronage of the Municipality of Taranto and the Municipality of Martina Franca.
