The young (17 year old) Barcelona winger inherits the trophy rewarding the best player under the age of 21, this Monday, during the 2024 Ballon d’Or ceremony.
And the best player under 21 is… Lamine Yamal. Little or no surprise: at just 17 years old, the Spanish winger is astonishing Europe and the world, whether with FC Barcelona or the Spanish team. A meteorite. The Blues can attest to this, having suffered his talent head-on in the semi-finals of Euro 2024… Yamal therefore inherited the Kopa Trophy this Monday, in Paris, during the Ballon d’Or ceremony. He succeeds Real Madrid player Jude Bellingham. Two PSG players in the Top 10, Joao Neves in sixth place and Warren Zaire-Emery, eighth, tied with his French compatriot from Bayern, Mathys Tel, and the Ivorian Karim Konaté.
