Moral judo continues to reap successes | Zamora’s Day

Spanish Cup of Galicia in the cadet category that was held in Vigo, the Caja Rural Judo-Zamora team traveled there, on this occasion all its components belonging to the Judo Morales club.

On Friday, weighing and accreditation were passed without any major problems.

On Saturday the competition began early in the morning, a competition where all the best on the Spanish scene were present, as well as Portugal and a team from Ukraine.

Isabel Fernández -57kg had a very tough fight, but could not get past the first round and without the option of entering the repechage.

Juan Meana -60kg, did not have his day despite doing a very good judo, he fell in the second round and did not enter the repechage either, a shame because Juan is here to fight for the highest positions.

María Bahamonde -52kg, the youngest of the expedition, as she is a 1st year cadet, had some very close fights, reached the third round and entered the repechage, managing to sneak into twelfth position, which was her second Spanish Cup in This category is not bad at all.

The joy came at the hands of Elena Bahamonde -44kg, who was winning fights among themselves, beating the current Portuguese national champion, until placing herself in the final, very close, with just 20 seconds left to go, the Valencian Judoka achieved a much disputed advantage. and without time for reaction, in the end a silver medal that allows her to remain 1st in the national ranking.

But with hardly any rest the Judo Morales club does not stop, next weekend the CyL championship in the senior category and although we will have a very young team since they will be cadets and a junior we are sure that they will give a lot of fight.
