Jorge Martin (Ducati-Pramac), leading the MotoGP world championship, won the sprint race of the Australian stage, beating his closest rival Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati), who finished fourth. Second place for Marc Marquez (Ducati-Gresini), third place for Enea Bastianini, Bagnaia’s teammate. In the championship Martin, who arrived in Australia with a 10 point lead over Bagnaia, now has 16 points before tomorrow’s Grand Prix. Contact between Marco Bezzecchi (Ducati VR46) and Maverick Vinales (Aprilia); their motorbikes ended up in the gravel.
Unharmed, Bezzecchi was taken away on a stretcher as a precaution.
