Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —
Bayern Munich player Thomas Muller was surprised that his team lost 1-4 to Barcelona in the continuation of the third matchday Liga Champions at the Luis Companys Olympic Stadium, Thursday (24/10) early morning WIB.
Muller acknowledged the opposing team’s superiority in the match. According to him, Hansi Flick’s team played well, although he also emphasized that Munich controlled the match against Barcelona.
“We controlled the ball well, so maybe the final result of this match was a bit strange. We have to respect that they are a good team, Raphinha had an almost perfect night, while we missed several good opportunities,” said Muller, quoted on the UEFA website.

The 35 year old player also added that Bayern Munich looked like they were not confident when they visited Barcelona headquarters.
“I would say we looked lacking in confidence, just because we didn’t press like we wanted. We didn’t have the ball possession and control like we wanted,” said Muller.
“We didn’t play like we should have; that’s what I mean. Maybe it’s human, when you’re down 4-1, to get up and try again, but it’s not that easy,” he added.
Currently, Muller and his colleagues have been thrown into 23rd position in this season’s Champions League standings. They can only collect three points from one win and two defeats.
This was a heavy blow for Die Roten, especially for Vincent Kompany as a tactician. A poor start in Europe’s most prestigious competition meant that Kompany had to improve and find the right tactical mix to get positive results in the next match.
