Municipal Sports Games will start its 43rd edition this weekend

The 43 edition of the Municipal Sports Games It will start this weekend with the registration of 112 teams in 7 different modalities. The young people signed up will compete and have fun in soccer, 8-a-side soccer, indoor soccer, basketball, volleyball, multisport indoor soccer and multisport basketball.

Starting on Saturday, October 19, athletes born between January 1, 2006 and December 31, 2017, enrolled in official non-university educational centers in the Valencian Community, will enjoy these modalities in regular phases. Once they are finished, other competitions will be organized such as the Cup, Esport 3D or the Relámpago tournament, in addition to the 13 hours of some educational centers.

In recent years, the barrier of 2,000 young athletes has been surpassed. These also come from other nearby towns, such as Cocentaina, Muro, Banyeres, Bocairent, Albaida, Onil, Ontinyent or Ibi.

In this edition, the multisport project has been maintained, where other sports modalities are made known through special days for young people. Orienteering, climbing, unihockey, athletics or archeryare the modalities that are part of this multisport.

There is also individual participation in modalities such as BMX, judo, chess, rhythmic gymnastics or artistic gymnasticsamong others.

With these Jocs Esportius, the Center d’Esports encourages participation, fun and the promotion of sport as the most important thing. In this sense, they will organize training talks during the course aimed at coaches, family members and referee committees.

“From the Department of Sports of the Alcoy City Council we want to thank the Alcoyan company Unión Alcoyana Seguros for its unconditional support for yet another year in this call and also thank the different clubs, educational centers, competition committees, technicians, families and athletes,” commented the Sports Councilor, Alberto Belda.
