During Bundesliga club FC Bayern‘s 4-1 defeat at FC Barcelona, there is said to have been an altercation between Bayern goalkeeper Sven Ulreich and Barca’s assistant coach Marcus Sorg.
At least that’s what “DAZN” presenter Laura Wontorra claims to have noticed. “Bayern are back on the pitch and want to kick off quickly. So the second half could begin. Coman and Tel warmed up very intensively,” said the 36-year-old immediately before the restart.
Wontorra continued: “And when we went into the dressing room there was a loud argument between Sven Ulreich and Marcus Sorg. Let’s clarify afterwards what they had to discuss.”
The exact background is still unclear. When asked about the incident on “DAZN”, Bayern coach Vincent Kompany was clueless. “I didn’t see that, I didn’t notice anything about it,” said the Belgian.
Verbal derailment by Sven Ulreich
Ulreich recently caused a stir at the Bundesliga summit between FC Bayern and Bayer Leverkusen (1-1) at the end of September. During the game there was a violent verbal outburst from the Munich substitute keeper.
A video circulating online shows the goalkeeper insulting the visitors’ bench and Werkself managing director Simon Rolfes.
“Hey, sit down, Rolfes, you wanker!” shouted the visibly upset goalkeeper. The veteran was filmed and applauded by the fans sitting behind him in the stands. The DFB didn’t like the 36-year-old’s verbal slip-up and gave him a ban and a fine.
For Rolfes, the incident is now over. “Sven Ulreich has contacted me. That’s it for me,” said the Bayer boss after his team’s 1-0 (0-0) win in the Champions League against AC Milan.
