Borussia Dortmund will have to do without central defender Niklas Süle for the time being.
“Niki will be out until the international break, we hope that he will be there afterwards,” said coach Nuri Sahin on Friday. The next international matches will take place in mid-November.
Süle suffered an ankle injury in the 2-5 Champions League loss at Real Madrid during the week, “very early in the game when Ramy (Bensebaini, editor) fell unluckily on him,” Sahin reported: ” He pulled it off completely, that’s something that should be mentioned when you talk about him.”
Despite the injury, Süle played through to the end. He will most likely be replaced by Waldemar Anton in the Bundesliga duel against FC Augsburg (3:30 p.m.), who will then form the central defense together with Nico Schlotterbeck.
