WHO IS NEZIH BARUT?
Nezih Barut, born in 1952, serves as the President of Abdi İbrahim İlaç Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. Barut, who graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Pharmacy in 1976, started his active business life in 1976 at the Abdi İbrahim Pharmaceutical Factory, the foundations of which were laid by Abdi İbrahim Bey in 1912. Barut, who took over the management of Abdi İbrahim İlaç in 1981, assumed responsibilities in important positions at different levels of the company, such as Production Manager, Deputy General Manager and General Manager, for more than 30 years.
Nezih Barut, who initiated the institutionalization process of Abdi İbrahim Pharmaceutical industry, serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Pharmaceutical Industry Employers’ Union, which undertakes a mission towards the development of the Turkish pharmaceutical industry. His other memberships include; Istanbul Chamber of Pharmacists, Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO), 1907 Fenerbahçe Association and Fenerbahçe Sport Barut, who is a member of the club, is the first Turkish businessman to receive the Prince Hendrik Medal of Honor from the Danish Export Association in 2008. Nezih Barut, who speaks English, is married and has a son.
