NFL: Amari Cooper traded from Browns to Bills

The Buffalo Bills added experience to their group of receivers on Tuesday by acquiring <a href="https://www.archysport.com/2022/01/nfl-the-wild-card-round-is-full-of-young-people/" title="NFL: The wild card round is full of young people”>Amari Cooper from the Cleveland Browns.

The Bills agreed to pay the Browns a third-round pick in 2025, as well as a seventh-round pick in 2026.

Buffalo will also get their hands on a draft pick, Cleveland’s sixth round pick in 2025.

Cooper is the second high-profile wide receiver in a matter of hours to be traded to an AHL East Division team.

In the morning, the New York Jets announced that they had got their hands on Davante Adams, who will join his old friend Aaron Rodgers from Las Vegas.

Monday evening, the Bills (4-2) consolidated their hold on first place in the Eastern section of the American Association by defeating the Jets (2-4) by a score of 23-20.

Cooper, 30, is in his 10th season in the NFL — and his third with the Browns, who have struggled on offense under quarterback Deshaun Watson.

Cooper caught 24 passes in 53 opportunities for 250 yards and two touchdowns. These came in a 21-15 loss to the New York Giants in the third week of the season. He was also limited to 12 catches for 137 yards over the last three games.

His arrival in Buffalo will fill the void left by the departure of wide receiver Stefon Diggs, who was traded to the Houston Texans, and Gabe Davis, who became a free agent.

Akers back with the Vikings

The Texans traded running back Cam Akers along with a conditional 2026 seventh-round pick to the Minnesota Vikings.

In return, Houston gets its hands on a conditional sixth-round pick in 2026.

Akers will be on familiar ground, having played with the Vikings during the 2023 season.
