He mexican illustrator Adan Days, Also known as “Atrapaluz”, he is responsible for creating the concept ofUntil Deathwith which the NFL reflects the tradition that represents the Day of the Dead in family, passion, community and American football, a taste that advances in a sentimental and unique way from generation to generation and beyond death.

FOR THE FAMILY!

“I thought it would be easier to reflect it, honestly. But I think that it was nothing more than starting to analyze the common points that there could be. The truth is that I always like to reflect in my work personal things, my friends, my partner, my family, make it the most personal because it becomes the most universal.

“There I found a common thread because, of course, the majority of people who like American football inherited it, the majority. There are people who picked up that taste on their own and it was passed from generation to generation.so I found that that is a very nice way to continue living. That was where I found the concept,” said Adan Days in an interview with FOX Sports.

THE NFL AND THE DAY OF THE DEAD!

Adam’s design brings together the essence of burlesque catrinas of the engraver and Mexican illustrator Jose Guadalupe Posadabut they also come to life with colors and endless details that reflect respect for the NFL for him Day of the Dead and the mexican fans.

“It’s very good that the NFL pays so much attention to this, It is the most distinctive and perhaps most important festival in Mexicobut not everyone knows how it works. They know about skulls and colors, but there is a lot of sentimentality, a lot of emotion, it is family, it is about keeping ourselves alive, celebrating the lives of those who are no longer here. That the NFL wants to share this with the world, feel pride in your Mexican roots with American football fansdistinguishes us a lot from other fans.

“My main inspiration was the famous Mexican engraver and illustrator José Guadalupe Posada, who made all these black and white engravings of skulls, he invented the catrina, the one we all know. I really liked the poses, how they used the skulls for fun. So, I tried to imagine what the skulls would be like who were fans of American football all their lives.”explained the illustrator.

DIE TO LIVE ETERNALLY, WITH THE LOVE OF AMERICAN FOOTBALL!

The NFL y Adam Days They decided on the phrase: ‘Until Death’ to accompany the design to celebrate the Day of the Deadwhich will also be reflected in caps, jackets and balls that will be presented to the fans to extend the link with tradition.

These skulls don’t have little eyes for anything other than American football, that’s why they have little ball eyes.they have their marigold flower that keeps them alive, the little flame that they have above their head and represents the passion they shared. There are a lot of doodles that have that style of finish, I wanted them to have that engraving texture, all doodles have a reason, a reason for being within the design.

“The concept of ‘Until Death’ Get out of this hobby not only for your team, but for the sport itself. Maybe we are here for the time we have to live, You are going to love the sport until death, you are going to love your team until death. That’s the beginning, maybe later you’re gone, but Whoever you have shared it with, as long as it remains on earth, will continue your legacy and in the end it will become eternal.”, he stated.
