Avant-match Bills c. Jets

Buffalo Bills tackle Dion Dawkins embraces the Bills-Jets rivalry and he hasn’t been shy about expressing his feelings toward his division rivals.

The plan – at least from Dawkins’ perspective – is to keep the rivalry going when the two AFC East teams meet in New Jersey in Monday Night Football.

On Thursday, the media asked him where this state of mind against the Jets came from. While he first pointed out that sharing a division made the fights more intense, he also explained why the Jets created so much tension.

“The (Jets) guys, they talk, we talk and we are instigators. I like tension and that’s what I do,” Dawkins said.

“The Jets never liked the Bills and the Bills never liked the Jets. »

Since Sean McDermott became Buffalo’s head coach in 2017, the Bills are 9-5 against the Jets. The teams have split the season series the last two years, including the Jets’ victory in Week 1 of the Monday Night Football last year on a punt return in overtime. During the same game, quarterback Aaron Rodgers suffered a torn Achilles tendon.

The Bills have lost the last two games at MetLife Stadium. In games that quarterback Josh Allen has started, the Bills are 7-4 against the Jets.
