NFL broadcasts select games in Cosm shared reality locations

The NFL has partnered with Cosm to broadcast select games in shared reality experiences at Cosm venues during the current 2024 season.

The immersive format offers fans a new way to experience the games live without being in the stadium themselves. As part of the deal, >> Cosm deploy its cameras and production crews to NFL stadiums to broadcast a selection of top games. The collaboration includes Thursday Night Football games on Prime Video, Sunday Night Football games on NBC, Monday Night Football games on ESPN and select Fox broadcasts.

Founded in 2020, Cosm aims to provide an immersive experience for fans who are not directly in the stadium. The Los Angeles and Dallas venues can accommodate up to 700 guests and are equipped with 12K+ LED domes that provide an impressive 26 meter projection. Another location is expected to open soon in Atlanta.

The broadcasts began a month ago with a game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Atlanta Falcons. Standing room tickets to Los Angeles’ broadcast of the upcoming Sunday Night Football game between the Indianapolis Colts and Minnesota Vikings are currently priced at $22, while seated tickets range from $66 to $110.

In addition to the NFL, Cosm has partnered with the NBA and UFC, as well as sports broadcasters such as NBC Sports, TNT Sports, Fox Sports, ESPN and Prime Video.

In another broadcast highlight, the NFL announced that it will partner with ESPN and Disney to produce an animated alternative broadcast for the Cincinnati Bengals game against the Dallas Cowboys on December 9th on Disney+ and ESPN+. This special format will take place at “Atoms Stadium” in Springfield, inspired by the series The Simpsons, with all players portrayed as animated characters. Using the Next Gen Stats initiative and Sony technology, the game will be available on both NFL+ and internationally in over 145 markets.

“Playing in the league was a great privilege and I’m thrilled to be working with the NFL again,” said Jeb TerryPresident of Cosm and former Tampa Bay Buccaneers player. “This time without my protective gear to give fans a unique opportunity to experience the game we all love in a shared reality.”
