The 49ers couldn’t afford to lose a second straight game to a division rival. Especially with a record of two wins and three losses after five games.

Receiver Deebo Samuel stood out with a 76-yard touchdown run in the second quarter that gave his team a 10-0 lead. He finally finished the game with 102 yards on three receptions and 15 yards on four carries. Tight end George Kittle also had a say on offense with two touchdowns.

San Francisco’s ground attack also had a strong game with 2,249 yards, an average of 7.2 yards per carry.

But it was the California team’s defense that set the tone, limiting the Seahawks’ ground attack to 52 yards in addition to making two interceptions at the expense of quarterback Geno Smith.

The latter still finished the game with 312 yards through the air and a touchdown.

The Seahawks’ biggest moment of celebration came in the third quarter when Laviska Shenault returned a kickoff 97 yards for the touchdown.

The 49ers will try to collect their second straight victory for the first time this season next week in a matchup against the powerful Kansas City Chiefs. This is a revenge match for Kyle Shanahan’s men who lost 25 to 22 against the Chiefs during the last Super Bowl.

As for the Seahawks, they will meet the surprising Atlanta Falcons during the next week of activities.
