NFL receiver injured in shooting

A dramatic event shocks everyone NFL-World: Broncos receiver Josh Reynolds was injured in a shooting in Denver early Friday morning. “Josh Reynolds was the victim of a shooting Friday in Denver and was receiving treatment for minor injuries,” the team confirmed in an official statement Thursday. “Out of respect for the ongoing process, we will leave further comment to the authorities.”

Injuries and medical care

According to police documents, Reynolds and another man were found near South Quebec Street and East Union Avenue in Denver after several 911 calls. Reynolds suffered two gunshot wounds – one to the left arm and one to the back of the head. Team sources reported that Reynolds was released from a Denver-area hospital the same day.

Reynolds, 29, currently on the injured list following finger surgery, participated in team activities this week at the Broncos complex in south suburban Denver. He did not play in the Broncos’ game against the Saints in New Orleans on October 17th.

Police reported that Reynolds and two other people were at the Shotgun Willie’s strip club in Glendale, Colorado, and left at 2:45 a.m. Friday morning. Reynolds and another man drove away in an SUV and later said they were chased by several vehicles before shots were fired. When the SUV stopped driving on Interstate 25, the main artery through Denver, Reynolds and his companion got out. The vehicle was later found with several bullet holes.

Investigations and arrests

A third man in Reynolds’ group, who was not riding in the SUV, was injured by broken glass but not shot. Denver police announced that two men were arrested in connection with the shooting. They are being held on charges of attempted first-degree murder and aggravated assault. Investigators say Mendoza followed Reynolds and the others out of the strip club as the group left the premises.
