NFL – Reuniting with Rodgers: Jets sign Adams – Sports

New York (dpa) – The New York Jets around star quarterback Aaron Rodgers have signed wide receiver Davante Adams from the Las Vegas Raiders. The Jets made the move official on Tuesday evening after several US media outlets had previously reported on it. Accordingly, the Raiders will receive a third-round pick in the coming draft in exchange, and the Jets will also cover Adams’ salary for the rest of the season.

Under certain circumstances, the Raiders could also get a draft pick a round or two early. In Las Vegas, Adams experienced two mixed seasons; despite personally good numbers, he missed out on making it into the playoffs with the Raiders. This season, the 31-year-old pass receiver started in the first three games of the season, but was recently sidelined due to thigh problems.

Rodgers and Adams once had success with the Green Bay Packers

In New York, Adams will meet Aaron Rodgers, with whom he played successfully for eight seasons at the Green Bay Packers. In Green Bay, Adams was Rodgers’ favorite target player for years. The quarterback threw 73 touchdown passes to the wide receiver.

The Jets have had a disappointing season so far and have lost four of the six games of the season so far. Only on Monday there was a 20:23 at home against the division rival Buffalo Bills.

After the first five games, the Jets parted ways with coach Robert Saleh. His successor will be current defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich until the end of the season.
