NFL: The Buccaneers lose Mike Evans and Chris Godwin

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers received two pieces of news on Tuesday. A good one, under the circumstances and a less good one.

First the good, wide receiver Mike Evans will be sidelined until after week eleven with a hamstring injury.

The bad news, Tampa Bay announced that Chris Godwin‘s regular season was over and that he will have to go under the knife. There would be a chance that the receiver would return to action if the Bucs were to make it far in the playoffs according to head coach Todd Bowles, but they are slim.

Evans and Godwin were injured in the 41-31 loss to the Baltimore Ravens.

Evans remained on the field for several seconds, as coaches and teammates gathered around him. He was able to leave the field with Bobby Slater, the Bucs’ vice president of sports medicine and performance, but he was limping significantly when he entered the tunnel to applause.

Godwin made seven receptions for 65 yards against the Ravens

This season, Evans and Godwin have combined for 76 receptions and 911 yards this season. Every other Bucs receiver has 20 receptions for 267 yards this season.
