Nigeria declared winner after scandal in Libya

The CAF has decided. As a reminder, the plane of Victor Osimhen’s teammates, initially bound for Benghazi, was diverted to Al Abaq airport.

By remaining stuck for more than 12 hours without drinking or eating, Augustine Eguavoen’s players had lived a nightmare. An unacceptable situation, which pushed the Nigerian delegation to return to the country and therefore boycott the match. An investigation was then opened by the CAF, until the decision was rendered this Saturday. Note that the Libyan Federation was also fined €50,000, as mentioned in the press release.
