Noa Lang has in front of the camera ESPN responded to his way of cheering after the 2-0 against PEC Zwolle. After his goal, the PSV attacker held up a shirt with 9+1 on the back. He was referring to his recently released song Damage, together with Ronnie Flex.

Lang made it 2-0 on behalf of PSV in the fortieth minute by sliding the ball into the long corner. “I saw that corner was open. I don’t think the goalkeeper was in a good position. The far corner was completely free,” he responds ESPN.

When asked by reporter Hans Kraay junior why Lang held up a shirt with shirt number 9+1 after his goal, Lang answers: “9+1 is my shirt number. You heard my song, right?” In his song with Ronnie Flex, one of Lang’s lines is: “You are a 9+1 as my jersey number.”

Kraay junior, who says that he has heard Lang’s song, then wants to continue on a more serious note. “Seriously… Why do we get the Noa Lang circus after every goal?” said the reporter. “Suits me,” Lang responds. “Just talk, I’ll score.”

Kraay then wonders whether Lang cannot cheer normally. “Generation gap, I think,” said Lang. “But otherwise I think you’re a great guy.”

Lang missed much of last season due to a hamstring injury. He is now completely back.

“I feel myself growing. It’s the first time in a year that I’ve played three games in one week, so my legs were a bit heavy today. But now I have a week, and then next week I’ll just be back in flames,” the attacker concludes.
