OLBIA. The Carabinieri of the Radiomobile section of Olbia have arrested a man for stalking. Last Friday, 18 October, the military intervened at the Beyfin service station, on the outskirts of the city, on state road 127, following a request received by 112 from a woman from Olbia. Driving her own vehicle, she reported to the Carabinieri that she was being chased by her ex-partner who, armed with a knife, had approached her in the car shortly before and tried to push her off the road.
The woman, after managing to get away, contacted the military who, immediately arriving on site and after ensuring her health conditions, started looking for the man, who was tracked down shortly afterwards and stopped while he was on board his car, thanks to the rapid action of the Motorcycle Squad soldiers.
Subjected to a personal and vehicle search, he was found in possession of several knives, a baseball bat, a bottle of acid, one of alcohol and one of petrol, which he kept in the passenger compartment.
The woman reported to the military that she had been joined by her ex-partner near a bar outside the city, where he had beaten her with kicks and punches. The attacker, arrested, was taken to the Sassari-Bancali prison and made available to the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Tempio Pausania.
