Still prestigious results for the APD JUDO TRANI of the Coach Nicola Loprieno, who, after the two days on Roman soil, on 12 and 13 October, at the Pala Pellicone in Ostia Lido, for the Italian Boys and U13 Championship, maximum championship series for these two age groups, he returns to his beloved Trani with exceptional results, 2 gold medals and a bronze medal in the Olympic freestyle wrestling.
Already on the first day on Saturday, Anastasia Diaconu, born in 2013, thought of making it clear to everyone that the little wrestlers from Trani were not there as extras who, with an interesting performance and with a lot of emotion on her shoulders, managed to bring home a good 5th place, the result of a lot of willpower and with the knowledge that with a little more courage a medal could have also been obtained, but that’s okay… Courage that was certainly not lacking in the Wonder Woman of the group Roberta D’Antino, born in 2014, who with her first presence at an Italian championship and her first time at the Olympic center as a protagonist, does not disappoint expectations by taking home a well-deserved gold medal, which allows her to immediately set the trademark “LOTTA TRANI” on the first day of these Italian championships, easily winning the category up to the 28kg limit.
The following day, the little boys, riding the wave of enthusiasm, set off in fifth gear. In fact, Emauele Porcelli, Carlo Merafina, Angelo and Samuele Di Leo, Danilo Lamante, Antonio Occhionorelli and Andrea Iacca proceed quickly in their respective categories, with good performances but some difficulties. The first to give way is Danilo who does not enter the repechage, stopping in 7th place, all the others enter the final phases, final phases which are not very happy and fortunate for the little athletes where first Carlo, then Emanuele and Angelo who lose with their respective opponents. The other final for 3rd and 5th place was also unlucky with the two teammates Samuele Di Leo and Antonio Occhionorelli as opponents who created a beautiful match where Antonio came out on top with another medal at the Italian championships, this time bronze after the gold one won last year. But closing these two days, just as it opened, is our great Andrea Iacca, who with a perfect tournament, winning all his matches, won a well-deserved gold medal, thus redeeming the sporting disappointment of last year ( where he won a beautiful silver medal after a match that ended 8-8) which left so much bitterness at that moment, which turned into a desire for revenge in anticipation of these championships, and so it was!
Great satisfaction on the part of not only the wrestling sector technicians Nicola Loprieno and Occhionorelli Leonardo, but also the Judo sector technicians Michele Napolitano and Marco Diella and the entire large APD JUDO TRANI family who, daily and with great passion, follow the boys in their sporting and social growth.
The weekend of 19-20 October was again away from home for the Italy U15 Judo Trophy which took place at the Pala Mazzone in Taranto with over athletes from all over Italy, with Emanuele Porcelli, Antonio Occhionorelli, Angelo and Samuele Di Leo.
You are rooting for us… we grow by winning, but above all by participating.
