Today, Friday, the Minister of Culture, Tourism and Sports, Gonzalo Santonja, presented the activities programmed within the II <a href="https://www.archysport.com/2024/10/the-ii-family-sports-conference-reaches-nine-provinces-of-castilla-y-leon/" title="The II Family Sports Conference reaches nine provinces of Castilla y León“>Family Sports Days, which will take place in the nine capitals of Castilla y León. This initiative reaches its second call, after the successful participation of 2023, with around 6,400 attendees.
The objective of these days, which have a budget of 163,000 euros, is to promote family conciliation during leisure time, through shared sports: “It is about putting sport at the service of families, in an activity that strengthens ties, improves understanding and knowledge between the different members of family units, without exceptions due to age or physical condition, with activities for all tastes, at the same time and in the same space. And all this, in a sporting environment, of fun, motivation and with all the intrinsic values of physical activity, such as camaraderie, respect for others, rules, and teamwork.”
The activities take place in one-day sessions, in pavilions or school centers in each of the capitals of Castilla y León. “Different types of tests have been designed, which all participants, parents, children and family members will go through, without a competitive nature, since what is rewarded is participation and attempt,” explained the counselor. Some of these activities are chess competitions, basketball, soccer, badminton, table tennis, archery, traditional sports, mini basketball, or inclusive activities, where you can experience, for example, wheelchair basketball. All of this is complemented by other more recreational initiatives, such as inflatables, gymkhanas, e-sports, sports dances, and even a training area on nutrition.
