This “Open Day” campaign week was actually supposed to be organized around the day of honor for the Japanese man who died in 1938 – but it is the autumn break in schools. That’s why this campaign was postponed until the week before. With the aim of appealing to as many people interested in judo as possible. “The COVID pandemic has also taken a toll on us, and many have stopped doing judo because of it. But now we are back on the right track and we want to use the opportunity to get as many people as possible excited about our sport,” says the association president Erwin Schönwho also knows: “Judo is one of the best sports, especially for children. The whole body is moved and, above all, the kids can reduce their emotions and their rowdiness under clear rules.”
