VRIEZENVEEN – Saturday, November 2, 2024 promises to be a special day for Vriezenveen and for Hervormd Vriezenveen in particular. That is when the new Het Kruispunt center will be opened. It is a multifunctional building with a large church hall, a meeting room, meeting rooms, kitchen facilities and professional lighting and sound. A center with many options for all kinds of activities.
Reformed Vriezenveen also did not escape the national trend of fewer church members and increasing costs. A decision had to be made to close three of the four churches, the Aakerk in Aadorp, the Westerkerk in Vriezenveen and the Pollenkerk in the Pollen. A painful decision for many. But in addition to closing the three churches, a new perspective also emerged, the construction of a new center with a church hall. The center has been named Het Kruispunt and is a place where everyone can feel welcome.
The Crossroads provides accommodation for all church activities and the broad association life within Vriezenveen. It is a meeting place for residents of Vriezenveen, a place where you can just walk in for a cup of coffee or a good conversation. Given the extensive facilities, the center is also ideal for conferences, receptions, meetings and concerts, a nice combination of ‘Vriezenveen’s living room’ and multifunctional center.
Het Kruispunt will be officially opened on Saturday, November 2, and every interested party will have the opportunity to view the building from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
The first worship service will be held on Sunday, November 3 at 10:00 am.
