Our expert’s choice: Pickens will smile again

Our expert’s choice: Pickens will smile again

I’ve shared with you five proposition bets since the start of the NFL season and all of them have proven to be winners. You may be tired of hearing me repeat this, but prop bets are the easiest way to be right about the oddsmakers. It’s that simple.

This week I will once again attempt to take advantage of last week’s low usage of one player: George Pickens of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

He only played 57% of the shots and looked frustrated throughout the game. In total, he was on the field for 34 plays against Dallas, which was the lowest single-game total of his career.

After the game, quarterback Justin Fields addressed the situation with the media. He has a long relationship with the receiver, as they were teammates in the college ranks. Fields mentioned that he understands Pickens’ frustration due to his very competitive and passionate nature. The Steelers center said he plans to give him the ball constantly.

This comment did not fall on deaf ears. For sports bettors, this is a strong incentive to bet on Pickens to surpass his catch total or passing yardage total. Using this simple strategy has been extremely profitable for me over the years.

As of this writing, unfortunately, there are still no betting lines on Pickens ahead of his matchup against a vulnerable Raiders secondary. I only found one site that had its total receiving yards set at 46.5. In my mind, he will get at least 60 yards this Sunday.

So I predict that George Pickens will get over 46.5 yards through the air; in fact, it will outperform any line below 60. Be prepared to attack the bookmakers once they publish their lines.

I’ll talk to you again tomorrow with NFL picks on odds and point totals!
