Our Expert’s Pick: An Explosive Texas-Georgia Game?

Our Expert’s Pick: An Explosive Texas-Georgia Game?

We have a great college football matchup tomorrow, and I have a prediction for it.

This pick takes us to Austin, Texas, where the Longhorns (#1) face the Georgia Bulldogs (#5). This is our second matchup between two top 5 teams in as many weeks, and a third this year. This is going to be another heavyweight duel that I can’t wait to watch.

Georgia is currently neglected. When was the last time we heard that? They are underdogs by five points, and the point total is between 55.5 and 56.5.

Both teams had strong performances on offense last week, with Texas scoring 34 points while Georgia scored 41. With all the passes attempted (48) for 459 yards coming through the air, it’s hard to say don’t think the team was trying to silence several detractors who said they didn’t have a big offense. Meanwhile, Texas easily defeated Oklahoma, and it could have scored more if it wanted to.

Now is the time for these two powers to clash. These are two likely NFL quarterbacks facing each other in Quinn Ewers and Carson Beck. Looking at the model, it kept showing me big scores like 33 to 30 or 34 to 27.

This surprised me since these are two top-5 teams. Why were they awarding so many points? These are excellent defenses. What could I possibly have wrong? So, I did my research on the most recent clashes between two top-5 teams, and I noticed a strong trend.

In the last 10 times two top-5 clubs faced each other, the average points scored during those matches was 64. Maybe I’m not so crazy after all.

This goes against many people’s belief that these are two excellent defenses, but I’m going to go the other way, since I’m expecting fireworks.

I expect both offenses to have fun…so give me the most 55.5 points scored in the game.

Are you ready for some NFL predictions? They will be presented to you during Saturday’s edition. I can’t wait to talk to you again!
