This Tuesday October 22 and Wednesday October 23, 2024, around a hundred young judokas aged 5 to 14 gathered in Guipavas for an internship under the responsibility of David Bizouarn, judo teacher. During these two days, these children from several clubs in North Finistère – Morlaix, Saint-Thégonnec, Brest, Gouesnou, Relecq-Kerhuon and Guipavas – shared their time with several activities: judo of course, including learning refereeing, but also Jujitsu, cross fit, team sports and even creative hobbies.
Two nice surprises for young people
On Tuesday, the young people received a visit from Miwako Le Bihan, who is the highest ranking woman in France with an eighth dan black belt, as well as a European expert in Kata. And the next day, it was an Olympic medalist who went to the Guipavasian dojo: “Jason Grandy won a bronze medal at the last Paralympic Games in Paris, and he already had a very impressive record before the games. He is a multiple world medalist, says David Bizouarn. He offered workshops to young judokas: to the little ones, he showed ground holds, before doing standing holds with the older ones. He even showed them his special arm curling technique.”
