Paul Pogba, 31, will be allowed to play again from March – after his doping ban was shortened.

Now he breaks the silence.

– There will be a new Pogba, for sure. Even better than before, he tells Sky Sports.

French soccer star Paul Pogba, with World Cup gold on his record, was banned for four years for using testosterone.

Two weeks ago, his doping sentence was shortened to 18 months.

As of March, he will be allowed to play matches again – and he has already started to be linked to new clubs, as he will break his contract with Juventus.

– I like to win fairly. I’m a bad loser, but I’m not a cheater, he says in his first interview, with Sky Sports, since the suspension was shortened.

“People avoided me”

He claims that he takes responsibility for the positive test, as he did not “triple-check”.

– We are all human, we all have feelings. I tell you, when the ban happened I really realized what life is. Paul Pogba – the famous guy – is no more.

– People avoided me. I used to get invited to fashion weeks and events like that. Now they were like: “we can’t use Pogba”. My friends didn’t call like they used to.

The 31-year-old is clear that he wants to return to the top again – although there was a time when he thought about ending his career.

– I am hungrier and with more determination. I feel like a kid who wants to be a pro again. This is what drives me, he says.
