The 3D World Archery Championships took place from September 30 to October 6 in <a href="https://www.archysport.com/2022/09/marco-cesari-on-the-world-podium-in-slovenia-master-of-silhouette-archery/" title="Marco Cesari on the world podium in Slovenia, master of silhouette archery”>Mokrice, Slovenia. The French team particularly shone during the finals with three medals, including a gold medal in barebow by mixed team, won by Alicia Baumert, originally from Pelleport, and David Jackson. Opposed to Spain, the duo won by a close score of 146 to 142.

Multi-medalist, Alicia Baumert wins her first world title. “I don’t really give importance to the medal,” she confides. “Whether I bring home one or not, at the end of the competition I go home and start my life again where I started. I left. What matters most to me are my feelings and my progress in the championship.”

“I started this sport in 2017. Today, I practice it within the Union Tir à l’Arc club, says the champion. This year was complicated, because I changed equipment several times and spent more time on setup than on training, so I’m quite proud of my results, with this sporting season ending well.”

“The new season will begin mid-November, with the European indoor shooting, field shooting and 3D shooting championships, as well as the World Games. I am more than motivated and determined to be present at these championships.”
