Old football jerseys are becoming increasingly popular. There is a lot of interest in the pop-up sales today and tomorrow in the AA Gent stadium. There are 750 retro shirts for sale, of which 150 have ever been worn during a match. There are jerseys from the Red Devils (Clijsters, Courtois, Vermaelen, Kompany, etc.). And also more than 50 match-worn shirts from AA Gent (Degryse, Vreven, Runje, Jorgacevic, …) and more than 20 from Anderlecht (Baseggio, Scifo, Zetterberg, …).
“It is a hobby that has gotten out of hand,” says organizer Tom Van Doorslaer. “The jerseys come from a bit everywhere. I have a lot of them from the past, but they also come from other collectors.”
