Currently, the eight-year-old <a href="https://www.archysport.com/2023/06/exciting-results-from-racing-meeting-in-pardubice-velka-pardubicka-qualification-and-more/" title="Exciting Results from Racing Meeting in Pardubice: Velká Pardubická Qualification and More”>Sexy Lord and Godfrey shared the large Pardubice and Slavia pojišťovna. One was raised by Jan Švéda in Napajedlí, the other was born in France as a foster child of Jiří Trávníček. Check out the unique footage.

While the half-blood Godfrey’s career was straightforward and started straight in steeplechase, the untamed Sexy Lord started on the flat. On his debut at the now-defunct Světlá Hora racetrack, but also in three subsequent attempts in Netolice, Slušovice and Most, he ended up deep in the field of losers. At first it didn’t look much better even on the obstacles. He turned his sixteenth start into a victory, but his first at distances over 5,000 meters.

Witnesses will remember that Ryzák’s very first public appearance was on September 16, 2016, when he participated in the breeding day at the Napajedla stud. At the time, four-month-old Sexy Lord was shown together with his mother Sexy Secretary, and was shown at the same event the following year. The Auditorium saw both of his parents, as sire Egerton was one of the main stars of the stud block.

With the passage of time, it is extremely interesting to view the then collection of Napajedel yearlings and stopovers. Several of them later applied themselves in steeplechase races. In addition to Sexy Lord, the same old Well Absolut – the originally intended partner of jockey Jaroslav Myška for this year’s Velka Pardubická – also walked in front of the former auction pavilion. It was after his injury that Myška was approached by Sexy Lord.

The most famous Czech steeplechase was won by a horse bred in Napajedlý for the second year in a row. Unfortunately, the future of the historically most successful thoroughbred breed in the country remains uncertain after the current owners canceled the breed last year. The ongoing monument proceedings are currently in the decomposition phase.
