Pickleball coming in at ØVI badminton

Pickleball coming in at ØVI badminton

ØVI Badminton invited to Festdage in Østervrå with an offer to try Pickleball, which is a sport the club has also included in their regular programme.

On Monday during the autumn holidays, ØVI badminton had opened its doors to anyone who wanted to try their hand at badminton rackets and shuttlecocks, in addition there was also the opportunity to try the relatively new offer Pickleball.

Two fresh boys Benjamin Jensen and Frederik Michaelsen were ready to grab the slightly special bat, which is more square than round, to put the small light plastic ball into play over the net. Along the way, they get some good advice and guidance from coach and club chairman Brian Andersen. – We have put the new game on for our weekly training days on Monday and Friday, but I am quite sure that it could also easily be an interesting sport for the adults who play in the club to try, reads the call. The game is a bit more demanding, but definitely something that children, young people and adults can enjoy, they should not hold back, says the invitation.

All courts were occupied this Monday – mostly children, but also some parents had been challenged to a contest by their children.

Everyone ended up having fun together and eating pizza in the hall’s cafeteria.

Pickleball
Pickleball – a good mix of tennis, badminton and table tennis – a sport for all ages. Pickleball is played on a court that looks confusingly like a badminton court, with a net at paddle height and a ball that resembles the one used in floorball.
