FC Bayern has probably been looking for Dreesen‘s successor for a long time

Media reports have been circulating for some time that FC Bayern was looking for a successor to Dreesen. The 57-year-old took office in the summer of 2023 after the club parted ways with then-boss Oliver Kahn. Dreesen previously worked at FC Bayern as CFO and deputy chairman of the board.

If Dreesen actually has to resign from his position at Munich, say so manager magazine Former boss Karl-Heinz Rummenigge as a possible successor. This could act as a temporary solution; Diederich is also mentioned as a candidate. However, external options such as ex-DFL boss Christian Seifert or RB boss Oliver Mintzlaff would be rather unlikely.

Dreesen is officially under contract with FC Bayern until 2025. Under his leadership, the German record champions missed out on winning the German championship last year for the first time in eleven years.
