Comments condemned by the Minister of Sports

The Minister of Sports, Gil Avérous, and the Secretary of State for Citizenship and the Fight against Discrimination, Othman Nasrou, for their part “firmly condemned” these homophobic songs “which have no place at a sporting event and have a detrimental impact on the values ​​promoted by sport”, they said in a press release.

“The government will be uncompromising in the fight against all forms of discrimination, this is an issue of citizenship and the defense of republican principles,” continued the ministers who “will meet at the beginning of the week with the president of the LFP to discuss additional measures that can be deployed to prevent the recurrence of such homophobic acts.”
