Putin signs agreements with developing countries on space weapons

Burkina Faso in West Africa is one of the poorest countries in the world; more than 40 percent of the 23 million inhabitants have to live on less than a dollar a day. Not surprisingly, the country has neither a civilian nor a military space program. On the other hand, it may come as a surprise at first glance that the military leadership, which has ruled Ouagadougou since 2022, has just signed a joint declaration with Russia, according to which the two countries do not want to be “first” to station weapons in space.
