Nadal talks about Federer and Djokovic
Nadal also commented on his special relationship with his great rival in the early days of his career.
“My relationship with Roger was special,” said the Spaniard, explaining how they were able to build a friendship despite all the competition.
“It depends on how you approach the sport. There are many other important things in life besides tennis. And if you have a good relationship with your colleagues, then without a doubt you are happier,” said Nadal.
Nadal also had warm words for his second big rival, Grand Slam record winner Novak Djokovic. “He was a great opponent who always pushed me to the highest level,” he said about the Serb.
About a week ago, Nadal announced in a moving video that he would end his career in November. The Davis Cup finals in Malaga will be the 22-time Grand Slam winner’s last tournament. Recently, the 38-year-old had repeatedly struggled with serious injuries.
