Striker Giovane may no longer play for Corinthians. This Thursday (24), in a press conference, coach Ramón Díaz explained that the player is off the related list because he does not want to renew his contract with the club.
Giovane has a contract with Timão until July 2025. Therefore, he would be free to sign a pre-contract with any other team from July onwards. Against Racing, this Thursday (24), he was left off the bench and gave way to Pedro Raul.
The coach also stated that there are two other players who do not have an agreement to extend their contract.
“I make things clear. Giovane does not want to renew with Corinthians. They make the offer, but they don’t want to renew. You have to be grateful to the club, as there are also two other boys who don’t want to renew. Either renew or don’t play, we need committed players. You have to be grateful for what Corinthians gives. Until he renews, he doesn’t play any,” said Ramón.
Giovane arrived at Corinthians in 2021 to reinforce the Under-20 category, but quickly gained prominence and was soon promoted. He has been part of the professional squad since 2022 and has been called up to youth teams.
