Rarotonga emerged as the top-performing island team in the Cook Islands Games 2024 badminton events, securing the most medals and demonstrating their strength across various categories.

From the Under-14 competitions to the mixed doubles, Rarotonga’s athletes consistently outshone their competitors, asserting their dominance on the court.

In the Under-14 Boys and Girls Doubles, Rarotonga’s young players delivered outstanding performances, clinching gold in both categories. Manihiki and Palmerston took silver and bronze, respectively, in the Boys Doubles, while Mangaia and Palmerston secured the same in the Girls Doubles.

Rarotonga’s success continued in the Open Mixed Doubles, where their team claimed another gold medal. This victory highlighted their versatility and consistent ability to perform at the highest level in both youth and senior categories.

Manihiki and Mitiaro followed closely, earning silver and bronze in the mixed doubles, rounding off a competitive event.

While Rarotonga dominated the youth and mixed categories, other islands also had notable achievements. Mangaia excelled in the Open Men’s Singles, winning gold, while Mitiaro and Atiu earned silver and bronze. Atiu, meanwhile, shone in the Open Women’s Singles, securing gold, followed by Rakahanga with silver and Mitiaro with bronze.

In the Masters category, Atiu displayed their experience and skill, taking home gold in both the Men’s and Women’s Doubles events. Palmerston and Mangaia completed the podium in the Masters Men’s Doubles, while Mauke and Rakahanga secured silver and bronze in the Masters Women’s Doubles.
