The Entre Ríos team established itself as a local team in the Final Quadrangular after beating Regatas Corrientes by 87-80, in a direct duel for the title. Bahiense del Norte took third place.
Exciting closing to a spectacular weekend in Concepción del Uruguay. This Sunday, Regatas Uruguay defeated Regatas Corrientes in the undefeated clash of the Quadrangular Final of the mixed U12 Federal Formative League and won the title of the national competition in its second year of life. Felipe Faure was the MVP and Bahiense del Norte took third place. All the action could be seen live and for free through Básquet Pass.
Both the local team, Regatas Uruguay, and Regatas Corrientes arrived undefeated at the last date after winning their matches on Sunday morning. Those from Entre Ríos did it by a tight 119-118 against Bahiense del Norte, while the Corrientes team won 96-89 on July 9. So the last game of the Quadrangular Final was a direct final.
In the championship match, Regatas Uruguay managed to win after having a great last quarter, after being at a disadvantage for almost the entire game. Bautista Zuluaga, with 17 points, was the most outstanding player of the champion team. The MVP of the tournament was Felipe Faure, who stood out as the best Regatta player throughout the competition. The captain averaged 22.2 points and 7.1 rebounds in the 10 games of the tournament.
In this way, the Concepción del Uruguay team obtained its second national championship in history and the second this year, after having won the U15 Women’s Federal Training League this season.
In the previous match, in the confrontation between the Bahía Blanca teams, Bahiense del Norte was clearly superior throughout the match, achieving an 86-70 victory and securing a place on the national podium. Martino Canutti Faure, with 33 points, was the best of the winners, closing an exceptional home run.
Final of a contest that took steps forward in its second year of life. Four phases were held and 47 teams from all over the country divided into five regions participated at the beginning. The Final Quadrangular had a great performance by the players, a colorful setting and will leave an indelible memory for its protagonists.
