Registration is now open for the Bragança Walking Football Tournament, which will take place on October 30th, at the Bragança Polytechnic Institute (IPB) football field.
This sporting event is part of the II Stage of the National Walking Football Circuit, which began on October 18th in Almeirim and will culminate on June 12th, in Nazaré.
The tournament in Bragança will feature the participation of teams from the district and other regions of the country. Currently, the Walking Football Portugal Association brings together around 100 teams and 1200 athletes.
This modality, a variant of traditional football, is aimed at people over 50 years of age, aiming to promote a more active and healthy lifestyle.
Walking Football’s mission is to combat social isolation, sedentary lifestyle and depression, as well as improving health and encouraging social interaction between practitioners. The adapted rules eliminate running, jumping, sweeping and cutting, providing a safe and accessible practice for everyone, regardless of age or physical condition.
