Jurij Rodionov lost the first qualifying round against Spaniard Jaume Munar in two sets at the Erste Bank Open in Vienna.
The Austrian, ranked 193rd in the ATP world rankings, initially took a 2-0 lead in the first set, but fell 2-4 behind as the game progressed. Although he can still force the score at 5:5, Munar (ATP 65th) retains the upper hand with 7:5.
In the second set, Rodionov was clearly left behind. After a playing time of 87 minutes, a temporary 1:4 deficit turned into a 3:6 set and match defeat.
While Munar awaits the winner of the French duel between Halys and Moutet in the next qualifying stage, the tournament is over prematurely for Rodionov.
