Rúben Amorim promised this Thursday clarifications about the move to Manchester United “at the end of the game” with Estrela da Amadora, at the press conference previewing the match relating to the 10th round of the First Football League, which will be played this Friday Monday at 8:15 pm in Alvalade.
“At the end of the game [com o Estrela] I will talk about it. Tomorrow I will answer these questions”, assured the coach.
The Leonine coach also assured that “there is no war, much less a bad peace” in the relationship between Amorim and President Frederico Varandas.
“I don’t think President Varandas tried to force my departure immediately. He is defending the club’s interests,” he said.
Rúben Amorim recognizes, however, that there is anxiety and nervousness in the team, but rejects a scenario of revolt in the locker room: “Hjulmand didn’t need to hold anyone back. (…) I take care of my problems. And I’ve already proven that I defend them until the last minute.”

Asked about the emotions of some fans at the news of his possible departure to Manchester United, Rúben Amorim said that his heart is also broken, but that the decision of whether or not to go to England only concerns him.
The director of INEOS and CEO of Manchester United, Dave Brailsford, confirmed on Wednesday night that Amorim’s transfer to the “red devils” “is closed”.
Upon leaving Old Trafford after United’s defeat of Leicester, in a game valid for the English League Cup, the director responded affirmatively to the question about hiring the still Sporting coach.
Two and a half year contract in Manchester
SIC knows that Rúben Amorim will sign a two-and-a-half-year contract with a further option, in a transfer that will yield 11 million euros to Sporting’s coffers.
Amorim’s technical committee will also go to Manchester without any financial compensation for the national champions.
