Created in 2010, the Badminton Club Lyphardais (BCL) has been chaired for two years by Pierre Riveron. Here, it is a leisure sports club only. We don’t have a coach, the most experienced advise the new ones, it’s very friendly, relaxed. We have 70 members aged 14 and over, a third of whom are women, but we do not want to grow too much, because it would become complicated, members would have to wait too long, a field available to be able to play. Unfortunately, as we are unable to provide sufficient supervision, we are unable to offer a training session for children under 14 years old.
he explains.
Well-occupied land
The club has seven courts in the main room of La Vinière, Monday, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Thursday, from 7:30 p.m. to 11 p.m., and in room number two, also known as the racket room, from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., Friday only. Members most often play doubles. They can come as much as they want. It’s open every day of the year, even during holidays. Just ask one of the six office members who have the key. Annual membership is €60 and the advantage is that you can join at any time of the year, everyone can arrive at their convenience during training time slots
.
Friendly tournaments
If there is no championship, the region’s leisure clubs meet once a month. Thus, the Lyphardais meet La Turballe, Saint-Molf, Saint-André-des-Eaux, Le Pouliguen, Saint-Joachim for very friendly, but very competitive, meetings.
The club’s two major annual events are the internal tournament in the summer and Blackminton in the winter. The latter, in a room plunged into darkness, using steering wheels and fluorescent floor markings, will probably be contested in December.
The office
In the club, open to all, but made up of 85% Lyphardais, the office has Nicolas Huguet as vice-president, Marie Thévenol as secretary and Pierre Grange-Guérin as treasurer.
