Samanta Fiandino of Judo Cuneo Asd won the A2 Judo Italian Couple at the national competition held in Lignano Sabbiadoro on Sunday 27 October. A competition which saw the participation of athletes from over 200 clubs from all over Italy and in which the athlete from Cuneo, by taking first place in the 57kg category, earned the right to access the Italian A1 championship which will take place in Ostia on next November 23rd.
Fiandino played four challenging matches and, as she herself stated: “the result was not a given because my opponents were very experienced, but if I achieved this objective, I must share the credit for the victory with my coaches: Maurilio Rapisarda, Sergio Frandino and Alessio Lillio and with my athletic trainer, Federico Aimar”. A result that is the fruit of great commitment and determination, which the twenty-nine year old carries out “step by step” together with her equally demanding job as an operating room nurse at the Santa Croce e Carle Hospital in Cuneo. A sport that she has been practicing for 25 years and which has fascinated her since she was very young, following in the footsteps of her older sisters, she started practicing it.
