The San Francisco 49ers got back on the road to success against the Seattle Seahawks, but almost lost their lead

After the San Francisco 49ers had lost three of the last four games, they beat the Seattle Seahawks 36:24 in the “Thursday Night Game”.
Quarterback Brock Purdy completed 18 of his 28 passes for 255 yards and three touchdowns to teammates and had no turnovers. Deebo Samuel caught passes for 102 yards and a touchdown, George Kittle caught passes for 58 yards and two touchdowns.
Both teams’ offensive lines gave their quarterbacks a lot of time. Sam Okuayinonu, the 49ers defensive end, had the only sack of the game.
While San Francisco had a very effective running game that gained 228 yards, the Seahawks only managed 52 yards on the ground.
Seattle relied on quarterback Geno Smith’s passing game, but he made mistakes. Although he completed 30 of his 52 passes for 312 yards and a touchdown, he also threw two interceptions.
San Francisco got off to a good start in the game and took a 16-0 lead before the Seahawks reduced the deficit to 3:16 with a field goal before halftime.
In the third quarter, Seattle started to catch up with two touchdowns in a row and got within 17:23. Things also got exciting in the final quarter when Tyler Lockett caught a touchdown pass and brought the Seahawks back within striking distance at 24:29.
But Kyle Juszczyk ran into the end zone for the 49ers on the following drive and thus made the decision.
NFL: San Francisco may pay dearly for victory
However, there was one big downer for the 49ers: Jordan Mason, who had been strong recently, suffered a shoulder injury in the win against the Seahawks, returned to the field later, but was then taken out of the game again. Head coach Kyle Shanahan explained: “It just hurt too much.” The diagnosis is still pending. With Christian McCaffrey’s comeback still up in the air, another running back loss would be difficult to cope with.
49ers are looking forward to a big game against Chiefs
Both teams now have a record of three wins and three defeats. The 49ers host the Kansas City Chiefs next Sunday, while the Seahawks face the Atlanta Falcons.
